Questions About Immigration Physical
What should I bring to my immigration physical?
Bring a valid government issued photo ID, your vaccination records and any previous medical records, plus a list of current medications. If you have documentation of past tuberculosis treatment or chronic conditions, bring that as well.
What tests are part of the USCIS medical exam?
The exam includes a review of your medical and vaccination history, a physical examination, tuberculosis testing and blood work such as syphilis screening, along with other labs USCIS requires for your age and history. Missing vaccines are addressed during the process.
What happens if I am missing vaccines?
That is common. The civil surgeon reviews your records, identifies which required vaccines are missing and can often administer them in office. In some cases you may be guided on where to obtain a specific vaccine before your form is completed.
How do I receive my completed form?
Once your exam and results are complete, the civil surgeon signs your Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record and seals it in an envelope for USCIS. Do not open the sealed envelope. A copy can be provided for your records on request.
What to Expect
