Once your provider has prescribed a hormone plan, your bioidentical hormones are prepared by a compounding pharmacy to the strength and form written for you. Bioidentical means the hormones are structurally matched to the ones your body makes, and your supply is renewed as your plan continues.
This service is for patients already enrolled in hormone optimization who need refills that stay aligned with their latest lab work and symptoms. At our Merrick practice, Dr. Vital and the team review how you are feeling and your follow up labs before each renewal, adjusting dose or form when needed so your therapy stays tailored rather than routine.

Do I need to be in the BIH program to order supply?
Yes. Bioidentical hormones are prescription medications, so supply is available to patients who have completed an evaluation, lab work and a treatment plan with our medical team. If you are new, start with a hormone consultation and BIO Blood Work.
What does bioidentical mean?
Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as hormones your body produces naturally, such as estradiol, progesterone or testosterone. Compounding lets the pharmacy prepare them at the strength and in the form your provider prescribes for you.
How often will my hormone dose be reviewed?
Your provider reviews symptoms at follow up visits and repeats lab work at intervals set in your plan, often more frequently in the early months. Doses are adjusted when results or symptoms suggest a change would serve you better.
Can my dose change between refills?
It can. Hormone needs shift with age, stress, sleep and other medications, so your provider may raise, lower or change the form of a hormone based on how you feel and what your labs show. Never adjust your dose on your own.
What to Expect
Supply visits are part of your ongoing hormone care. Before a renewal, your provider checks in on sleep, energy, mood and any side effects, and reviews recent lab results when they are due. If everything is on track, your prescription is renewed at the same strength; if not, the dose or delivery form may be adjusted.
